I think that to a certain degree all of EXO (OT12) are very well-groomed to meet the media and public. It is part of their training. There are those that stand out with this more though. Suho, Kris, Chanyeol, and Luhan really strike me as examples of this. Of these four, Luhan pulls it off the smoothest, meaning that it seems more ‘natural’.
Baekhyun, Kai, Lay, and Tao seem to be the more blunt/honest members. They tend to respond and say what really is on their minds. All four have said things in interviews that made their other members visibly nervous or made them cringe. By far Tao is the king of this with Baekhyun right behind him. Kai is more accidental I think and Lay, although he denies it, is more for laughs I think. Although, Lay, if he is truly doing it on purpose, at times really does look stunned that his ‘honesty’ is so hilarious. The one thing that makes me think he really does know what he is doing is Luhan. Luhan keeps insisting Lay is ‘funnier’ than he is (source: Yahoo Interview)
Sehun, D.O., and Xiumin are more reserved however, they’ve made their own ‘mistakes’. Such as Sehun insisting he doesn’t ‘love’ Luhan and then quite literally contradicting himself only moments later (source: Sina Interview). Kyungsoo admitting to Kai dancing while showering: not something I think SM would have ‘trained’ him to say, lol. (look at 36:47 source: Sina Interview Full) Xiumin had his oops moment with CPR (source: Xiuhan)
That leaves Chen. He and his troll self: I think that his how he really is and it isn’t put on. His snarky comments and sly revelations about his members’ habits are fantastic fodder, yes, but I just get the read on him that it wasn’t manufactured. He strikes me as a smartass…and I’d probably get along with him as a bestie because of it :D
